Somatics as Embodied Feminine Leadership …

More than ever, the world needs courageous feminine leaders who are willing to express a deeper level of truth, vulnerability and authentic presence.

Yet, our research shows that a fundamental lack of safety to speak up and be seen, prevails inside many women’s lived experience today, even though they are highly accomplished contributors and leaders in their field.

The good news is that the solution is closer than we think. While we acknowledge the structural and systemic issues that still hold women back, in our experience, the most effective way to step into leadership is through our own bodies.

What is embodied leadership?

Stressful and traumatic experiences cause a somatic contraction that can become stuck in our body, unresponsive and disconnected from current time experience.

This contraction limits our joy, our feminine presence and our ability to be seen and heard so we can make our full impact as feminine leaders in these times.

To be bold & visible we need to build a platform of somatic safety which leads to freedom of movement, voice and being. Through the process we reintegrate the parts of us that have been frozen and disconnected in our nervous system so that we can be our most whole selves.

The SOMA is a living process through which our sensations, movements, perceptions, emotions and narratives form a whole human experience.

Somatics is an inquiry into knowing ourselves and the world around us by sensing, moving and listening through the body. - Thomas Hanna

The Somatic Transformational Story Method™ helps us to wake up the navigational system of our feminine body and bring our full resources back online so we can transform our embodied narrative, and restore a fundamental sense of belonging to ourselves and others.

Practicing Somatics through a feminine lens introduces an element of receptivity, flow, self-compassion and a safe container to address our most difficult embodied shame-based meanings.

Through our practice we reconnect to our deeper feminine knowing, our sensuality, our heart’s longings and to a deeply embodied source of our own power that has been locked deep in the survival pathways of our body.

A feminine approach to somatics acknowledges the exhaustion and isolation historically experienced by feminine identities in a masculine world that values competition, strategy and logic as the highest priority.

At the same time it seeks to transcend the shared somatic patterns and limiting narratives of collective victimization and blame arising from our wider social context so that we can grow, understand, heal and transform together.

It includes a new level of individual self-responsibility and personal agency to make change as the author of our own life. With this new agency comes a larger responsibility to the whole which can be accomplished when transformational somatic practices are applied both individually and collectively.

Collective witnessing

… is a powerful part of stepping into embodied feminine leadership.

It requires that we come together to share our vulnerability, speak our truth and give witness to what once was shameful and isolated and hidden.

When we support each other in community we can embody a powerful transformation that allows us to transcend outdated structures, behaviours and stories at the individual and the wider societal levels. Now is the time to choose our own story, to design a future guided by our own vision.

Living our lives as Art is the ultimate goal …

Bold & Visible Monologues

We can choose a NEW story that transcends our individual and collective histories. A story that releases old traumas and frees us from embodied patterns of blame, shame and invisibility that hold us back from all we can be.

Sharing our somatic transformational stories on stage at the Bold & Visible Monologues is a threshold through which we step out of the shadows to be seen, heard and embody a greater sense of wholeness and integration as we live our life as ART …

Art is the highest expression of the human spirit. ~ we yearn to transcend the merely finite and ephemeral; through our individual voices, we work to create art that will speak to others who know nothing of us. In our very obliqueness to one another, an unexpected intimacy is born. - Joyce Carol Oats

What holds accomplished women back in 2022?

Diverse women.jpg

There has never been a more important moment when our voice and contributions have been needed on this planet.

Every day in my practice, I hear from women who are sensing an urgency to step up to the next level of their lives and business. We have the solutions that are badly needed in these times.

Yet, in spite of being so accomplished, many of us still struggle to speak our truth and step into full visibility with our vision and contributions.

Bold & Visible recently surveyed over 500 high achieving women. Here are the top 5 issues that are still holding us back:

  • Fear of taking up too much space and time.

  • Fear of being seen for who we really are.

  • Looking like we are taking all the credit.

  • Fear of being exposed as a FRAUD and …

  • Fear of speaking our authentic truth.

We're at a tipping point. We can no longer afford to dim down, play small or withhold our authentic voice. It's time to get visible!

Mindset is not enough ...

You are a highly accomplished woman with valuable credentials and experience.

You've read all the books, completed countless hours of personal and spiritual growth, and gained a high level of mastery in your life.

Yet, if you're like me, you sense it's going to take something more to break through to your next level of income and impact.

The experts will tell you to pivot, acquire more skills and certifications, go on another retreat, build a social media brand and generate ever more content.

But I'm here to tell you that the ONLY thing you need to become an unforgettable communicator, who creates powerful and lasting impact, is YOUR story.

Your Story Matters

The number one way to own your voice, get visible and have a massive impact, is to tell a really great story. YOUR story.

The first time I shared my personal story on stage I was terrified.

Was I making a BIG mistake?

As a female corporate leader and public figure, I worked hard to garner respect and maintain a professional image in my field. Was I going to expose myself and harm my reputation?

When I stepped into the open with my authentic voice, everything changed!

After crossing that threshold with my story, I began to feel more comfortable in my own skin and more at ease with my leadership. It was like the vulnerability and honesty of my story made me more naturally attractive and compelling.

My family, friends, leaders and influencers in my world began to open up to me in unprecedented new ways. I gained momentum in my business like never before, as my relationships deepened and new possibilities opened up.

Negotiating difficult spaces with ease and confidence became second nature for me. Finally I could let go of the exhausting effort of proving myself. I could take a breath and get on with just being me.

Story Transforms

… an everyday leader into a powerfully present leader that others want to follow, by creating a space for vulnerability and human connection.

Owning and embodying your personal story is the foundation for building trust and influence with those you serve - and - cultivating inner confidence to unleash your voice and get truly VISIBLE.

Through your story, you naturally take up space and share your message free of the fear and doubt that was once holding you back. AND ...

  • The power of story is that it bypasses the overthinking left brain and goes directly to the emotional center, which is more open to connection, learning, change and memory.

  • Telling a great story is not about the content; it’s about the emotional impact. It's about how your audience FEELS.

Your personal story will build trust and distinguish you from the rest of the market, so you can develop authority as the go-to thought leader in your space.

When you know your story, you know your value in your bones! Callie B. Elwayns

I didn't know I was living in chronic invisibility patterns.

On the outside I was a successful, confident woman making her mark in the world, but secretly I felt isolated and unseen at a core level. My accomplishments would often go unrecognized and undervalued by others, even though I amplified and celebrated others around me.

Sometimes, I would shrink back, dim down and avoid opportunities to be seen, even though I longed to be more fully expressed as me. The worst part? I woke up day after day with a feeling of anxiety that I may never live up to my life’s full potential.

Looking back, it all makes perfect sense. Thirteen-year-old Callie made it from a homeless teenager living on the streets, to a sought-after leader and CEO. Yet, I was still in survival mode, stuck in an endless drive to prove my value. This had a huge cost in my life. I was exhausted and disconnected.

If I was honest, I would have told you that I had a longing to bring my true voice and gifts forward into the world in a much bigger and more authentic way. Only, I was terrified of what really wanted to be expressed through me. The personal stakes felt high. Exposing.

In the years to come I would have to leave my comfort zone, put much more of ME on the line AND have much more to lose getting visible with my true calling.

I was shocked to learn that I was locked inside of chronic invisibility patterns wired deep in my nervous system. Their evolutionary purpose was to keep me safe, but they were limiting the results I was getting in my life.

It was clear that my larger calling required me to stop dimming down and start being bold and visible. BUT ... I would have to go beyond the mindset training, self development, yoga and spiritual work I had done over the years!

So what was the missing link?

To unleash my voice and get truly visible, I had to awaken and activate my body and generate a platform of SOMATIC inner safety and deep practice.

It’s hard work and takes commitment but the payoff is WORTH IT!

CallieB_smiling_800w.png

I broke free from my old story and stepped onto the stage of my life, fully expressed as ME while making an unprecedented contribution with my gifts and talents.

Today I'm an unforgettable communicator creating powerful and lasting impact as a trusted authority in my market. I'm standing in my true value, engaging in life and business as an expression of my deepest desires and commanding premium prices for my products and services.

The best part? I am doing all of this, while feeling joyfully present and comfortable in my own skin, owning my true voice and playing a much bigger game in my life!

It's never too late to stop dimming down and start being Bold &Visible!

It's your birthright to shine bright and take up space, to be fully and authentically expressed, to unleash your voice, speak your truth AND contribute your greatest gifts to the world!
